Ok, here's the story. I drank 1/4 of a cup of grape juice on friday night, but then I woke up in the middle of the night due to some sort of stomach-ache. I didn't know what was going on at first, but I knew it must be something related to my intestines due to the location of the pain. Pain was sporadic, but it was not unbearable. I could hardly stretch myself straight. I tried different positions to relieve the pain, and leaning on the right side somehow reduced the discomfort. I went asleep again for a while, but the pain woke me up again. I thought, "O no, I may have to go to the hospital.... hmm... but there's no hospital in Tung Chung.... so do I need to call the ambulance?" Since it was not so bad afterall, I endured the pain till dawn. It was not easy though. I thought to myself, do I have to wait till morning to ask for help? Well, would that be too late?
So what did I do then? You may guess it right... yes, I prayed. I kneeled down at the side of the bed and prayed. Maybe I was too sleepy, so I fell asleep again as I prayed to God. When I woke up, the pain was gone! (Yes, this is a very "unscientific" story written by a medical professional...)
Who would have thought that drinking grape juice can give you such a great deal of pain? I didn't know whether it's related to the juice, but Thomas was brave enough to give it a sip. Originally he wanted to drink a whole cup, but Nettie stopped him from doing it. Anyhow, he told me afterwards that his stomach felt a bit funny. Since I believe he's a man with loads of different types of bacteria (qualitatively and quantitatively), I assume the grape juice must possess some kind of very strong bug!
Apart from the fact that Thomas is a very brave man, all I want to say here is God does listen to prayers. Some people may think that I would be okay no matter what after a few hours, but I don't necessarily have to treat it as a coincidence simply because it doesn't have to be. I prayed and I got healed, and that's the reality for me.
